Pictures show possible persons of interests in Independence statue theft

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — After a beloved 300-pound statue was stolen from Frontier Trails Museum in Independence, Mo., on June 17, police may be one step closer to finding the suspects.

On Tuesday, June 18, police released pictures of two men they believe may be persons of interest in the theft of the Pioneer Woman statue.

carThe pictures show two men dragging a large tube in what appears to be a junk yard.

The vehicle the men left in may be a Mercury Tracer Wagon. A woman may have been with them at the time.

A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for the arrest of the suspects and up to $4,000 for the safe return of the statue.

Anyone with information regarding the suspects or their vehicle is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816.474.TIPS.
