Pedestrian struck by car in Olathe

OLATHE, Kan. -- One man suffered life threatening injuries Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of W. Spruce and N. Kansas Ave.

Police said a woman, driving a silver mini van, attempted to make a left turn from W. Spruce onto Kansas Ave., when she struck a 24-year-old man who was attempting to cross the street. The man fell backwards and hit his head, suffering serious injuries.

A portion of Kansas Ave. was shut down while police investigated the scene and questioned the driver.
