PRESCOTT, Ariz. -- It was a poignant day in Arizona Sunday as people paid tribute to the 19 elite firefighters who were killed battling a wildfire.

Phoenix fire crews helped the town of Prescott and the surrounding communities as they deal with the tragedy.  White hearses carried members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots team to a public memorial on Sunday.

The Phoenix Fire Department provided escort vehicles from the medical examiner's office on a 100-mile procession to Prescott.  The public paid their respects to the fallen heroes killed June 30 when the wildfire took a sudden turn.

Fire crews battling the blaze that killed the elite group said the fire is now 90 percent contained.

Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to attend a memorial service in Arizona to remember the firefighters on Tuesday.
