AL defeats NL 3-0 in MLB All-Star Game

FLUSHING, N.Y. — The American League defeated the National League 3-0 in the MLB All-Star game Tuesday night, stopping a N.L. winning streak that had reached 3 games.

All 3 Kansas City Royals on the A.L. roster saw playing time in the contest.

Catcher Salvador Perez had one hit in one at bat, and scored a run. Outfielder Alex Gordon had one at bat and flew out to centerfield. And relief pitcher Greg Holland recorded one out in the 7th inning, throwing 6 pitches, all for strikes.

NY Yankee pitcher Mariano Rivera was named the game MVP.
