QUEENS, N.Y. — If you think you’re having a bad Monday, chances are one New York couple probably has you beat.

Workers over the weekend scoured a Queens, New York salvage yard after a husband dropped off an old refrigerator there. Except, what he didn’t know, was his wife had hidden their life savings inside the old appliance.

When the woman showed up to explain what happened, a worker apparently told the woman it would be impossible to track down the cash.

According to WCBS-TV, the woman left without leaving her name.

But, this is where the story takes a turn: an employee took it upon himself to find the old fridge and cash — and did. But now, no one knows who it belongs to.

“Sure enough the fridge was there. The only thing in the fridge was her money, exactly where she said it was,” the worker told WCBS-TV

The hunt is now on for the couple to give them back their cash. The employee said it was packaged in such a way “that only they could describe.”
