Man, 34, dies in Grandview shooting, police say

GRANDVIEW, Mo. -- Police are investigating the death of a man who was found dead on a sidewalk from an apparent gunshot wound in Grandview, Mo.

Denzell M. Stacker, 34, died in the shooting, police said.

Police said just after 11 p.m. on Sunday, they responded to the area of 129th Street and Beacon to investigate the report of sounds of gun shots, but they found nothing upon their initial search.

About 20 minutes later, a neighbor actually spotted Stacker's body in the 6400 block of 129 Place.

This is normally a very quiet neighborhood," said Sgt. Dean Van Winkle.

Van Winkle would not comment on witnesses or possible suspects.
