Police: Man attacked roommate with machete after station is changed
LAKE WORTH, Fla. — Whatever you do, don’t change Josue Rodriguez’s radio station.
The 40-year-old was showering in his Florida home on Thursday morning when he heard his roommate changing the dial on the radio. That’s when, according to the Sun-Sentinel newspaper, he got out of the shower and got “nose to nose” with him.
The roommate thought Rodriguez was about to hit him, so he pushed the man away. And, that’s when, according to Palm Beach County deputies, the 40-year-old went to grab a machete stashed under a table.
Rodriguez swung, but missed the roommate. He ended up knocking him in the face with the handle. Which then led to a struggle on the floor.
Eventually the roommate was able to knock the machete away and called 911.
So, why the machete?
“I only had the machete because I was going to sleep in the woods for the night,” he told the paper. Oh, and he said the two were only wrestling on the floor, too.
Rodriguez is in the Palm Beach County jail on $10,000 bond.
