‘Chad is Home’ celebration scheduled for Friday

PLEASANT VALLEY, Mo. — A memorial service is planned for Friday, Aug. 2, to honor Chad Rogers, the father, husband and son, who was found dead Friday after he never returned from a run Monday night in Liberty.

The “Chad is Home’ celebration will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Shoal Creek Community Church, 6816 S. Church Road in Pleasant Valley, Mo.

The facebook invitation says, “Come join us to celebrate Chad’s life.”

The page also indicates that family and friends are planning two events to help raise money toward the trust fund for his one-year-old son Matthew and wife Sarah.

The two events include a benefit concert and a run. “Chad LOVED music and obviously, he LOVED running,” the facebook post says.

“If you would like to help, volunteer, or participate in either, please watch for more information to come out int he near future,” the writer says.

On Friday, Rogers’ family confirmed that a construction worker found Rogers inside a portable restroom at South Valley Junior High School. Police said they will release the cause of death once they get results from the medical examiner in Jackson County.

The Chad Rogers Memorial Fund has been set up at U.S. Bank in Liberty. 1909 West Kansas St. Liberty, Mo. 64068

Rogers was 30-years old.
