KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A 40-year-old man was shot and killed Thursday night following an officer-involved shooting. Police were dispatched to an area near NE Parvin Road and North Corrington Avenue around 7 p.m. after receiving an anonymous tip about a wanted man in the area. The man was wanted on a warrant for a parole violation.

Upon arrival they located the suspect who ran from them. Family members of the suspect said he acted like he had a gun. Police have not confirmed whether that's true, but also said they were left without a choice to use force. Police shot the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene. Police Chief Darryl Forte tweeted that no officers were harmed during the incident.
