KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Two firefighters were injured during a house fire in the 3700 block of East 29th Street early Monday morning. One firefighter fell into the basement of a recently vacated home and injured his leg. The other firefighter is being treated for minor burns to his ear.

The fire spread to a house on the east and that family of three, including a toddler, is being taken care of by the Red Cross.

Bomb and arson investigators, along with fire investigators, said they're interviewing neighbors.

"I am scared," said fire victim, Tasha. "I have to start all over, but I am thankful my three-year-old is safe."

No cause has been determined, but it does look as if the fire was intentionally set to the house that had recently been vacated.

The Red Cross is helping Tasha.

"Just starting over. What do I do? I have loving family support, but where do you go from there, being a mom and how do you explain that to a three-year-old what happened and why we can't go home," she said.
