Standoff with man armed with knife ends in arrest

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A standoff with a man armed with a knife ended Friday afternoon in the 2900 block of Wallace with the arrest of the suspect.

During the incident, the man was reportedly shot in the hand.

Police were first called out to the area on reports of a prowler. The caller said a man was armed with a knife and trying to break out the windows of a car, and also trying to get into a house.

When officers arrived, the man went into the house and hasn’t responded to their orders to come out.

The man has a warrant out for his arrest in Sedgwick County, Kan.

He is reportedly a family member of the homeowner whose house he won’t leave.
