Police investigating double homicide in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police are investigating a double homicide near East 55th Street and Wabash Avenue where a woman in her 20's and her child, a girl between the ages of four and six, were found dead on Friday night. A relative of one of the victim's told FOX 4's Robert Townsend that one of the victims was her niece and that the woman had recently moved into the house.

A relative drove by the house on Friday and saw that the front door was wide open and a baby boy could be heard inside screaming. Police were dispatched to the scene at about 7:15 p.m. KCPD Chief Darryl Forte said that both victims were found inside the home.

We have not been informed of the causes of death yet. FOX 4 will continue to follow up on this story and will report the latest details as they are available.
