13-year-old driver crashes, sends two to hospital

MAYSVILLE, Mo. — A 13-year-old boy driving a 2006 Chevy Uplander lost control of the vehicle and crashed on southbound Route A, just north of Maysville, Mo., on Tuesday.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the driver, Brilyn Harmon, 13,was traveling southbound on Route A when he traveled off the east side of the road, over-corrected and skidded off the west side of the road and down an embankment.

Thirteen-year-old Harmon was partially ejected and taken by ambulance to Heartland Regional Medical Center. A passenger, Joni Harmon, 33, was life-flighted to Truman Medical Center.

Neither were wearing their safety belts.

No other information was released.
