Double shooting victim identified

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police identified the deceased victim from a double shooting on Saturday as Corey M. Knight, 29, from Kansas City, Mo. The shooting happened at the 4700 block of E. 40th Place and also seriously injured another man who is reportedly Knight's cousin.

That man was shot in the arm and taken to a hospital in critical condition. Initial reports indicated that two black male suspects pulled up to the house in a gold Chevrolet Tahoe and opened fire.

Knight was standing inside the front doorway when he was fatally shot, the other man was standing on the porch. Two children who were inside the home when the incident happened were unharmed according to police, they are said to be the critically injured man's children.

Police said that the suspects in the gold Tahoe fled the scene and are asking for public assistance finding them. Anyone with information about the crime is urged to contact the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS (8477).
