KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The police chief is taking sides on the issue of city control over his department.

The mayor has established a commission to figure out if a city-run police department would be better than the current Police Board of commissioners.

On Tuesday, Chief Darryl Forte blogged against the idea of the city taking over police matters. he wrote “This model best meets the needs of our community” and says he protects the department from political corruption. Read more here.
