KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Forty veterans flew out of Kansas City International Airport Tuesday on the “Show Me Honor Flight” headed to Washington, D.C.

The group of Korean, Vietnam and World War II vets will visit Arlington National Cemetery along with memorials dedicated to veterans like the Vietnam Memorial wall.

“It’s just the pleasure of being with the veterans,” Jewell Kidwell, WWII veteran said, “to see those memorials, it’s great. It’s patriotic.”

The “Show Me Honor Flight” organization has flown out 450 veterans since they started the program in 2008.
