KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Red Friday spectacular continued Friday as the Greatest Show on Earth even got into the act of getting everyone excited about the Kansas City Chiefs home opener against the Dallas Cowboys slated for Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.

Kelly Ann, the star elephant at the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus, was busily punting and catching Chiefs footballs.  Chief's cheerleaders and the KC Wolf were also in attendance.

The festivities began early Friday morning

On dozens of street corners, you could see the red coaters, the Chiefs cheerleaders and more than 1,000 volunteers selling the special edition Red Friday newspapers.  The proceeds went to the Ronald McDonald House.

And while the street were flowing red, so was the sky.  A team of six smoke-writer airplances released red smoke over downtown Kansas City.

Chief's owner Clark Hunt got in on the action out in Overland Park.

"It's a great tradition for Kansas City Chiefs and the entire community," Hunt told FOX 4 News.  "It's a way to celebrate the  kickoff to the opening weekend of the Chiefs at Arrowhead and at the same time, raise some money for a great organization like the Ronald McDonald House."

Be sure to wear your Chiefs gear to the Red Friday Pep Rally at the Power and Light District Friday at 6:30 p.m.
