Chiefs battle injuries as they prepare for Tennessee
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Chiefs are one of five teams in the NFL with a perfect 4-0 record. If they want to make it 5-0 they’ll have to deal with, and probably get through, another a rash of injuries with the team.
The Chiefs listed 14 players on their Wednesday injury report, all suffering from an assortment of ailments. RB Jamaal Charles has blisters on the bottom of his feet, TE Travis Kelce is still nursing a sore knee, OT Eric Fisher is dealing with the complications that come with a concussion that he suffered in the win over the New York Giants.
Cornerback Brandon Flowers still has inflammation in his knee, and Safety Kendrick Lewis still has a bum ankle. Not one of those five players practiced on Wednesday. Guard Jeff Allen and tight end Anthony Fasano both missed the game against the Giants, but both, along with seven other players had limited practice time on Wednesday.
Chiefs WR Dexter McCluster was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after returning a punt for touchdown in the win against the Giants. This Sunday the Chiefs travel to Nashville to meet the Tennessee Titans.
