KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The wind howled and the engines roared at the Kansas Motor Speedway this weekend. On Sunday, thousands packed the stands to see Kevin Harvick celebrate in victory lane. While drivers were busy racing and wrecking, the people outside the grandstand also put on one heck of a party.

Steve Wilson and his crew had a total of nine grills all cooking up something tasty, but mostly it was good ol' fashioned Kansas City BBQ.

"We started out with one or two grills and now look at us," said Wilson as he remembered the first time he tailgated a NASCAR race at Kansas Speedway in 2001.

They not only cooked the food for themselves, but fed the masses and offered anybody a taste of the BBQ goodness.

"It's free parking. We have a great time and we bring all our friends," said Wilson. "Everybody walks by we offer them food. It's a great day at Kansas speedway."

The crew is out for every race and plan to continue that streak next year. When asked who their favorite driver is, the group collectively spouts out a myriad of different names.

"It doesn't matter who wins," said Wilson after the ruckus died down. "We all have a great time."
