OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Three siblings from Overland Park are about to make history on the cable network History Channel. You might have seen that popular TV show on called ‘American Pickers.’ It's about two guys, who crisscross the country hoping to turn people's trash into some cool treasures.
Watch out Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, the hosts of the national show.
In April, 12-year-old Luke, 10-year-old Wesley and 7-year-old Emeri Ekstrand made their own super spoof of the hit show and the siblings' video, called ‘Kid Pickers’, is blowing up on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
More than 2,000 YouTube fans alone are loving every minute of the trio's parody on buying other folks' collectibles and junk for virtually nothing.
"It's very exciting because you got famous people tweeting your video and you get some many views on it." Wesley Ekstrand said.
“I thought it was super exciting because watching ‘American Pickers’ is just like awesome!" Luke Ekstrand said.
And what could be even more awesome? How about just days after ‘Kid Pickers’ hit YouTube, ‘American Pickers’ two hosts tweeted that they absolutely loved Ekstrand kids' funny video that they made in about an hour at a relative's antiques shop in Sweet Springs, Mo.
"It's kind of like having my fans being my fans, which is pretty awesome!" Luke said.
Actually these young, YouTube sensations, rising celebrities say the best part is that their video will be featured in ‘American Pickers' season premiere on October 9.
"Hollywood tomorrow? Uh, I'm not sure we'll get to Hollywood, but we're pretty famous. And you like it? Yes!” Wesley said.
