Semi driver killed when he veers off I-29

DEARBORN, Mo. — One person was killed in a single-vehicle accident Friday morning on I-29 near the Dearborn exit.

The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating why the driver of the semi-truck went off the roadway.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other drivers or cars were involved in the accident that happened at about 8:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-29.

The victim’s name has not been released because all family members have not been notified.

Southbound traffic was closed to traffic at mile marker 30 near the Platte/Buchanan County line Friday morning while authorities worked the accident scene.  They report the left lane of southbound I-29 is now open to traffic.
