Heart of America Stand Down Foundation hosts event for local homeless veterans

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Kansas City metro area is the home for more than 2,000 homeless veterans who desperately need help.  Epecially now, as they prepare for the upcoming winter.

The Heart of America Stand Down Foundation held an event for local homeless veterans today at Memorial Hall located at 700 N. 7th Street in Kansas City, Kan.

Homeless veterans will be able to pick up boots, sleeping bags and other items until 4:00 p.m. Friday.
