SIMI VALLEY, Calif. — Warehouse club Costco issued an apology on Wednesday after a pastor tweeted that a Bible had been labeled as ‘fiction’ on one of its store’s shelves.

KTLA reports that Caleb Kaltenbach is a pastor at Discovery Church and while looking for a gift, saw and tweeted the following:

KTLA reports the wholesaler issued an apology on Wednesday that read in part:

“Costco’s distributor mislabeled a small percentage of the Bibles, however we take responsibility and should have caught the mistake.”

Kaltenbach told KTLA that he’s been the recipient of outrage from people on either side of the religious debate. Some have attacked him for posting the picture, but he said this is part of his mission.

“It just highlights our mission of being able to share the gospel,” Kaltenbach said.

Editor’s note: The reporter in the video states that it had not received communication from Costco on Tuesday night, which is accurate. Costco released the quoted statement above on Wednesday.
