Mizzou to play for SEC title

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri’s one of the new kids on the block, but the Tigers will crash the SEC’s big party next weekend in Atlanta.

Henry Josey broke free for 57-yard go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter, and the Tigers beat Texas A&M 28-21. With the win, the Tigers clinch the East Division title, and earn a spot in the SEC Championship Game. Mizzou (11-1 / 7-1 SEC) will play West Division champ Auburn. The Tigers (11-1 / 7-1 SEC) upset No. 1 Alabama 34-28 Saturday.

Missouri, picked in the preseason to finish sixth in their own division, celebrated Senior Night in style. Trailing 14-7 to start the third quarter, the Tigers matched down the field on the opening drive and scored on a two-yard run by Marcus Murphy. James Franklin then threw a fade to La’Damian Washington. He hauled it in to give Mizzou its first lead 21-14.

The Aggies (8-4 / 4-4 SEC) tied it up at 21-21early in the fourth quarter. With 3:34 left, the Tigers’ offensive line cleared a huge opening for Josey, who burst free up the middle for the final touchdown.
