Police: Man fails to buy beer, woman assaults him with ceramic squirrel
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — In Helen Williams’ eyes, not coming home with beer was not an option for her spouse. According to WCSC, Williams stabbed and hit the 41-year-old man early on Christmas morning with a ceramic squirrel when he returned home sudless because the store was closed.
Police responded the couple’s home and found the man bleeding from a significant laceration that extended from his left shoulder down to his chest. He also had cuts on his face and told police that Williams had hit him over the head with the squirrel before stabbing him in the chest.
Williams denied the allegation and said the victim had fallen and cut himself. When police quizzed her about the blood on her hands and shirt, she claimed the stains had already existed. She was arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence.
Williams appeared in court on Christmas Day to have her bond set at $10,000 according to online court records. She’s still being held in detention and has a court date set for April. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for his wounds.
