ARLINGTON, Tex. -- The Missouri Tigers are in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex for the Cotton Bowl this week, where of course, you can't have a Cotton Bowl without a media day.

The Tigers took the field at AT&T Stadium ahead of the game on Friday night against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. FOX 4 got an opportunity to ask players how they're preparing for the game against their old conference foes.

The message was all about winning. Liberty’s Marcus Lucas said the team is concentrating on their own game for right now.

“It’s not really about them in this game, we’re just… we’re confident in the way that we play,” Lucas said.

But Lucas and other players are aware that the Cowboys can pose a tough challenge, especially in the defensive secondary.

"They've got a lot of athletes, they're very athletic and they make a lot of plays. I think they had like 20 interceptions this year or something," Lucas said.

While the players mentally prepare, coach Gary Pinkel said he also wants his team to have some fun when possible.

"We're excited about being here, and our fans are too," Pinkel said.

It's a chance for this Tiger team to play one last time together with a group of seniors who Pinkel says has been instrumental in the Tigers' success.

"Through their leadership it's been outstanding and it's been so important. (They are) Part of the success we've had this year, and certainly visual aids for all younger players," he said.
