Tasso’s Leg of Lamb


4 to 5 lbs (bone in) Imported New Zealand Leg of Lamb
3 Garlic Cloves
2 tbsp. Butter
2 tbsp. Margarine
1 tbsp. Salt
½ tbsp. Black Pepper
1 tbsp. Oregano
3 tbsp. Olive Oil
Kasseri Cheese


Rinse lamb with cold water; pat dry with a clean cloth or paper towels. With a small knife, make three slits on the leg lamb and insert garlic cloves, butter, and Kasseri Cheese.  Rub lamb with margarine and sprinkle salt, black pepper and oregano over the lamb. Place leg of lamb into a 4 inch stainless steel pan.  Fill pan with 2 inches of water, cover with foil and poke holes in foil.

Bake at 350 degrees for 3 hours and 15 minutes.  Uncover Lamb and brown for 20 minutes before removing. Remove and serve. Serves 7 to 8 people.
