KANSAS CITY, Mo. --  Want to get good, safe health care? Speak up! That's the name of a campaign by the Joint Commission which accredits hospitals. The commission wants you to have an advocate or representative who can speak up for you.  The advocate is usually a family member, friend or neighbor.

Watch the video from the joint commission which shows in a humorous way how that advocate can help you.

FOX 4 Medical Reporter Meryl Lin McKean also talks with Candice Brooks, a patient liaison at Truman Medical Center, about how liaisons can help patients.
