ODESSA, Mo. -- Holding a single candle, hundreds surrounded a family who tragically lost their 12-year-old brother and son. The community lit candles and released balloons for Devin Fossett in Dyer Park Friday night.

They all shared their favorite memories and gathered in a circle around Fossett's family. Just days ago, he was found dead in a nearby lake after rescuers believe he fell through ice. People at the vigil started a fundraiser in hopes to cover funeral costs for the family.

"Especially with summer time coming up it's gonna be really, really hard. I see him on a day-to-day basis. A big part of our little street is gonna be gone now," family friend April McAllister said.

Everyone remembered Devin in their own way, his school bus driver said she's put his picture in Devin's seat.

Friends sold bracelets that say "Odessa Angel, R.I.P Devin". They also have a fundraiser going online, people can donate at - search for Devin Fossett.
