GLADSTONE, Mo. — Fifty police and fire vehicles along with a helicopter were called out Wednesday morning to make a memory for a nine-year-old boy battling brain cancer.

Caden McGuire got to wear a hat and received an honorary police badge on his very special escorted ride to his chemotherapy treatment. After a ceremony of support at Linden West Elementary School, 7333 N. Wyandotte St., Gladstone Police escorted him to Children’s Mercy Hospital.

“It shows him he has support every single day here at Linden West as well as in the community, to support him,” said his teacher, Christy Lister. “It means a lot to him right now.”
