Grill Mayor Brat Burgers

Makes enough for 9 burgers

  • 1 ½ lbs 80% Chuck
  • 1 ½ lbs spicy sausage (loose or removed from casing)
  • 1 ¾ teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1 ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ tsp fresh ground pepper
  • ½ cup diced green chiles (fresh or canned)
  • 9 slices of extra sharp cheddar cheese

Mix the sausage, chuck, granulated garlic, kosher salt, pepper and green chiles together being careful not to over work the meat. Cook 5 to 6 minutes per side (until internal temperate reaches 165°) over direct medium high heat (400° to 450°). Add cheese during the last minute of cooking.
