Savory Addictions French Toast

1 cup half-and-half
3 large eggs
2 tablespoons honey
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
8 (1/2-inch) slices day-old or stale bread, brioche or challah preferred
2 tablespoons of butter
1/4 cup chopped Savory Addictions Nuts (Red Wine Blend) Maple Syrup

In medium size mixing bowl, whisk together the half-and-half, eggs, honey, and salt. Do this the night before to allow the custard to set. Set out the bread on a wire rack the night before to ensure staleness. The bread will soak up more of the custard when stale.
Set up the grill to indirect, preheat to 350 - 375 degrees F and place griddle on the grill (indirect side). Allow Griddle to preheat at the target temperature for at least 10 minutes.

When ready to cook, pour the custard mixture into a pie pan and set aside. Dip bread into mixture, allow to soak for 30 seconds on each side, and then remove to a cooling rack that is sitting in a sheet pan, and allow to sit for 1 to 2 minutes.

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a Griddle. Place 4 slices of bread at a time on the griddle and cook until golden brown, approximately 3 to 4 minutes per side. Repeat with rest of the slices of bread. Sprinkle ½ TBL on each piece of toast and then serve immediately with maple syrup.
