JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — A Missouri House committee has advanced legislation allowing the use of a cannabis extract by people whose epilepsy is not relieved by other treatments.

The bill would permit use of “hemp extract” with little of the substance that makes marijuana users feel high and greater amounts of a chemical called cannabidiol, or CBD. Patients would need to have epilepsy that a neurologist has determined is not responding to at least three treatment options.

The legislation is sponsored by Republican Caleb Jones, with the House speaker and majority leader among the co-sponsors.

The House General Laws Committee endorsed the bill Tuesday following a public hearing.

That is great news for people with epilepsy, however, almost any disease can he helped or cured by the high THC extracts. It is the best plant medicine on the planet yet we are awash in harmful pharmaceuticals. We are so backwards it is sad. THC can cure cancer by stoping mutating cells ability to reproduce. This is a fact! Chemotherapy is killing thousands of people needlessly, such a sad situation. Educate yourself, see the video on youtube called “runfromthecure”.

So it has come full circle, from “we can’t legalize marijuana, think of the children” to “we have to legalize marijuana, think of the children”. How about we just end this war we declared on ourselves?

Why are legislators telling Drs. when a certain drug can be prescribed. Most of these legislators could not find their a** with both hands and a flashlight. These type of decisions should come from the FDA.

While I am excited about this I question why they have narrowed it down to epilepsy. It could help so many people with so many issues. Why was it watered down? Studies have shown the positive effects it has on those affected by autism. Why was that left out? I applaud the effort, but I don’t want it to get so watered down that it will do no one any good.

A member of the Missouri legislation son has epilepsy so they are rushing this oil thru. They are taking care of one of there own. Amazing how fast they can get something done to help themselves. I have Secondary Progressive MS. There is no DMT medicine for my stage. Medical grade cannabis is my only option left. The muscle relaxers and pain medications are destroying my body and make daily living impossible. They make me a prisoner in my own home. I’m also tired of sleeping my life away cause med knock me out. I don’t want to exist I want to live.
