City of Independence to Host the 2015-16 Division I Women’s Basketball National Championships

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — The Independence Tourism Department and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Wednesday that the Division I Women’s Basketball National Championship is coming home to the Kansas City area.

The City of Independence, Mo., will serve as the official host of the 2015 and 2016 national championships, with assistance from William Woods University (Mo.). The championship events will be held at the Independence Events Center in Independence, Mo., from  March 18 – 24, 2015  and March 16 – 22, 2016.

    I would guess that more money is spent on women’s basketball than what they bring in. I think it is a waste of a woman’s time to play basketball while in college. They should spend that time studying rather than playing basketball. Not only are the women not as talented as the men, but the games move too slow. If I was paying for my daughter’s college education, I would not want her wasting time on a game.
