Man, juvenile charged for alleged roles in fatal KCK shooting on Sunday

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office announced charges against 20-year-old Joshua Diaz and a 15-year-old juvenile female for their suspected roles in the shooting death of Joaquin Patricio on Sunday. Patricio was killed in the 1000 block of Cheyenne.

Diaz has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated assault and two counts of criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Additionally, the 15-year-old female was charged with one count of obstructing apprehension or prosecution.

Both are currently in custody in Jackson County, Mo. The 15-year-old is being charged by the juvenile department and Diaz is currently awaiting extradition to Wyandotte County and held on $500,000 bond.

    Such a shame. I knew this fellow, Josh, and tried to get him to stop messing around with bad influences but some people cannot be helped. R.I.P Joaquin Patricio, your cousin is a dear friend of mine and in so much pain. I see the outcomes of this senseless violence from both sides.
