ONTARIO, Ohio — The family of a child who died when he was only 14 months old also had to endure the unnecessary pain of people stealing toys from Hayden Cole Sheridan’s grave. The thefts started in 2007 and when they were finally fed up, Hayden’s parents asked for police’s help in 2012 and a surveillance camera was set up.

The camera caught another theft over Easter weekend according to sister station WJW. A woman was seen taking a large stuffed duck from Hayden’s grave. After the police department released the surveillance video through social media, a woman turned herself in.

WJW reports a woman named Frieda Kay Shade told police she had witnessed a loose dog at the cemetery and took the stuffed animal to protect it. Police didn’t buy it and she was served a summons for petty theft.
