WASHINGTON D.C. -- A Liberty, Mo. mom who praised the Mid-Continent Public Library for the service it provides her family was at The White House Thursday morning to see the library receive the 2014 National Medal for Museum and Library Service.

It's one of ten libraries and museums to win the award this year.

On Thursday, First Lady Michelle Obama presented the award to Steven Potter, Library Director and C.E.O. of Mid-continent Public Libraries.
