ORRICK, Mo. -- It's been two nights since a tornado hit the small Missouri town of Orrick and help has arrived in many forms. That includes one organization which is hoping to help people "heal with a meal."

That's the name of one non-profit which has been in town providing breakfast lunch dinner and a little encouragement.

Founder Scott Lamaster got lots of thank you's while he delivered bottles of water to thirsty folks who were cleaning debris and working to rebuild. Monday morning he and his volunteers served up biscuits and gravy. Lamaster said his group served close to 300 people Sunday night and expected to serve that many again Monday night.

He said providing a hot meal to a tornado victim helps with more than hunger.

"It's about restoring hoping people. It's kind of our passion to bring out and restore hope and let people know that you care," he said.

FOX 4 caught up with Lamaster as he was feeding members of the Winnetonka High School football team, which was in Orrick to help clean up storm damage. Coach Sterling Edwards said many lessons can be learned from the experience the team got on Monday.

“There are life lessons to be learned. So I think it's great for our kids to give back to the community and help people who need some help right now," he said.
