Overland Park listed among top 10 places to live for kids

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Have kids? Looking to move to a kid-friendly city? According to Livability.com, Overland Park, Kan., has been named one of the top 10 best cities for kids.

Referencing schools, playgrounds, libraries, recreational venues geared toward kids and its low crime rate, Livability.com ranks Overland Park third on its top 10 list.

“Having kids and when those kids start school are two of those key moments in a person’s life when they consider relocation,” says Livability Editor Matt Carmichael. “These cities and towns have a compelling story to tell about why they should move to the top of the list for young families.”

Overland Park draws families to the area with its top-rated schools and quality education. The city’s 83 parks and open spaces, four small lakes and year-round recreational venues, including Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, keep kids active. More than 43 percent of area restaurants offer kids’ menus, making dining out for families a great experience. Both parents and kids will love the quaint eateries, boutique shops and art galleries in downtown Overland Park.
