Special screening in Leawood: Decoding Annie Parker, about breast cancer gene

LEAWOOD, Kan. — Time is running out to bring a special screening of a new movie about the discovery of BRCA, the breast cancer gene, to Leawood Town Center 20 Theater, 11701 Nall Ave.

Enough tickets must be sold in advance to ‘Decoding Annie Parker’ to reserve the theater.

The screening is Wednesday, May 28 at 7:30 p.m.

Decoding Annie Parker shows how the paths of cancer survivor Annie Parker (Samantha Morton) and geneticist Mary-Claire King (Helen Hunt) intersect. With grace and humor the film chronicles how these remarkable women work to make one of the most important genetic discoveries of the 20th century.
