LIBERTY, Mo. -- The owner of Crowley Furniture spent Memorial Day cleaning up after a fire destroyed his furniture store in Liberty, Mo.

"We've been around a long time," Greg Crowley, owner, said. "Sixty years. Seen a lot of problems, see a lot of things happen. Never had a fire before."

The store was closed at the time and no one was injured. It took firefighters an hour and a half to control the blaze, that, ultimately, destroyed the front of the building.

"There's a big odor and a lot of cleanup to do, so it's not a good place to be in right now," Crowley said.

Most of the store was damaged by smoke and water, but Crowley said he's making sure all his customers are taken care of by redirecting them to the two other Crowley furniture stores in Overland Park and Lee's Summit.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
