KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A long line of veterans received items many of us take for granted, as part of Operation Summer Stand Down at the Scottish Rite Temple, 1330 Linwood Blvd.

Volunteers gave veterans a variety of items including toothpaste, deodorant, jeans and shoes.

One out of four homeless people is a veteran.

It’s a same if there is even 1 veteran in the US who is homeless, but someone needs to go back to school. The woman announcing this said 1 in 4 people who are homeless are veterans, then she said that is 40%. No, honey, that is 25%, and while that is too many, you need to relearn your fractions and percentages that were taught to you year after year in school. There are many things in math that you don’t use after school, but fraction and percentages are used in cooking, buying things on sale, computing tips to waiters, etc. And to keep from embarrassing your self on TV.
