Motorcycle officer involved in wreck on city’s southside

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A police officer on a motorcycle was involved in a wreck at Blue River Rd. and 87th St., Tuesday morning.

The accident happened at about 7:20 a.m. in the south part of the city. The officer was on the way to a call in that area when the accident occurred.

The officer was alert at the scene, had minor injuries and was taken away by ambulance in good spirits.

A Kansas City Police spokesperson said the accident happened when a vehicle pulled out into the intersection and clipped the officer's motorcycle, causing it to wreck.
