KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm Historic Site, located at 1200 Kansas City Road, will feature Draft Power activities with a FREE family fun night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 12.
Activities may include a horse pull at 6:30 p.m. in the arena, a horse powered burr mill demonstration and a special appearance by Rocking M Miniatures, where kids up to age 14 can drive a team of miniature horses and a covered wagon for a nominal fee.
Dress as your favorite cowboy in two categories; ages 3-11 and ages 12 and up. Costume judging begins at 7:30 p.m. Each winner will receive a family ticket package to Wild West Days in September. The Cowboy Costume Contest will be offered each Thursday at Family Fun Night. Find complete rules and more information at Mahaffie.org.
Other activities may include: trailside cooking, cowboy gear, roping, 19th century games, cooking demonstrations, and visiting the Mahaffie house. Admission is FREE; stagecoach rides and other activities have a nominal fee.

Day Out with Frank and Ella
Horse Power activities will be featured Wednesday, June 11, and Thursday, June 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Activities may include: stick horse races, horse powered burr mill and corn grinding demonstrations, and crafts. Stagecoach rides, blacksmith demonstrations, and visiting the Mahaffie home will be offered.
Day Out with Frank and Ella is open to pre-schools, day cares, and other youth groups. Individuals are also invited to attend these drop-in summer fun sessions. Registration is encouraged but not required.
