JOHNSON COUNTY, Kan. — A huge book sale is underway in Johnson County.
It’s a chance to support local libraries in Johnson County. According to Community Relations Coordinator Marcia Bennett, last year’s sale brought in about $80,000, which is impressive when you consider most items sell for between fifty cents and $3.
“We estimate that there’s probably between 90 and 100,000 items. We also have audio/visual materials in addition to hardback and paperback books,” said Bennett.
Just to help you visualize, that’s about 20,000 square feet full of books. The library found that kind of space at the Great Mall of the Great Plains and they’ll keep on selling there through Saturday.
