Smithville man competes in Chop Griller contest

Taylor Middleton of Smithville, Mo., will be competing for America's next top "Chop Griller."

The National Pork Board hosted an online contest to find the grilling enthusiast with the best 140-character tip for taking their chops to the top, and now it's time for pork fans across America to vote on which of the eight featured finalists is worthy of the grand prize and honorable title of 'America's Top #ChopGriller.'

Middleton stood out from nearly 6,000 entries. He is competing to prove he has what it takes to make a top pork chop -- and the fame associated with being named America`s Top #ChopGriller.

Between June 2 and June 13, fans can visit and submit one vote per day for the finalist they think should win the coveted title. All who submit a vote will automatically be entered for a chance to win a Big Green Egg® Grill Package and a summer's worth of free pork.


Marinade in apple juice.
Slice holes in meat, stuff with Gouda cheese.
Dust with mix of brown sugar and Cajun seasoning.
Grill to 160*F.
Rest for 3 min and enjoy!
