KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Firefighters battled a house fire Friday morning. The fire occurred at a vacant home in the 6400 block of E. 12 Terrace in Kansas, Mo.

A neighbor, David Buchanan, said he estimates it's the fifth vacant home that has caught fire in the last couple of months. He suspects someone is intentionally setting fire to the buildings.

Buchanan said the person who lived in the home died about a year ago.

When firefighters arrived the home was fully engulfed in flames. By the time firefighters extinguished the blaze they said the home was burned out from top to bottom.

Firefighters continue to investigate the cause of the blaze.
