KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Thrift stores are popular places to get great deals. But if you are shopping for children, proceed with caution.

Every year the Consumer Product Safety Commission takes dozens of products for children off the market, and strengthens the standards on others. But what happens to all those old products that are now considered unsafe?

Many end up in thrift stores.
