Diamond White is a suspect in a south Kansas City stabbing that happened Saturday, July 12.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police responded to a reported cutting Saturday night in south Kansas City and found a victim with a knife stuck in his head with a cloth wrapped around it. Court documents say that when police at the scene questioned Diamond T. White, 19, about what happened, he spontaneously uttered, “I stabbed somebody in the head.”

White was charged on Monday with one count of first-degree assault and one count of armed criminal action according to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office.

A probable cause statement says that a witness saw White and the victim wrestling in the kitchen of a home located in the 9200 block of Fairwood Court. After briefly stopping, White and the victim began wrestling again and the victim punched White twice in the face.

After standing motionless for a few minutes, White is then accused of grabbing a knife and stabbing the victim in the head. He was taken to the hospital and listed in critical condition. White was taken to police headquarters where he confessed to the stabbing, saying he snapped and was angry about getting punched in the face.

White is currently in custody at the Jackson County Detention Center on a $75,000 cash bond. He was arraigned on Monday and is due to appear in court again on July 31 according to online court records.
