Overland Park police say attempted abduction never happened
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Following a two-day investigation into a reported attempted abduction, Overland Park police said on Wednesday that no crime was committed. Police previously said they were investigating a report that a man had tried to take a nine-year-old girl in front of her driveway in the area of 87th and Melrose Street.
Police are no longer looking for a suspect, who had reportedly been a six-foot tall white man driving an older model, beat up green pickup truck. A news release thanked the community for its vigilance and response to the report and investigation.
